Campbell River Shito-Ryu Karate celebrated its 28th year of karate-do with their annual awards and family BBQ at Miracle Beach last weekend. The club and its members gathered for their annual
awards at BBQ after their car-wash fundraiser and annual water-fight.
Sensei Roy Tippenhauer was again the target,
using all his skills to keep the water-wielding kids at bay.
Awards this year went to:
Most Improved Beginner -Sienna Stephens
Future Potential – Kyle Macdonald
Little Ninja of the Year – Cole Knudsen
Most Improved Overall -Dahlen Wanner
Achievement Award -Valerie Doyon
Inspirational Athlete of the Year – Lian Paterson
Unsung Hero – Boston Larsen
Best Attitude Award -Antonia Bellefluer
Achievement Award -Courtenay Brake
Volunteer of the Year -Wendy Larsen (absent)

The club hosted its 14th annual kids summer camp from July 8-12 at the
dojo at #5 10-40-9th ave. Classes are filling fast and registration can
be done online at www.shito-ryu.ca. Regular classes are over for the year
but beginners registration will take place online in late august.
